definitely, they play on my kitchen table, they whistle pop goes the weasel, and they are very, affectionate.

2. How many toys does it need?
about 4 or 5 toys, a swing, and a few perches. he or she will be very happy

4. Are they a good first bird?
They are excellent, because they are trained very easy, they take a minimum effort, and they are extremely lovable. I highly reccomend them for a first, and for just anyone!

5. Are they a good pet?
Completely. When they are babies, they take some time to give care to. When they are adults it's much less work because of hand feeding, I love them either way.

6. Are they loud even if they get attention?
They can be, if they are upset, very happy, or want attention. that is when they get EXTREMELY loud. They are about a little loud, about 50% of the time, and very loud about 17% they aren't quiet to much yet not loud to much. So it's a good balance.

For some first timers help here are some tips from my experiance:
Be worried if they are on the floor often.
Give them a bowl for water, food & treats.
give them cuttlefish pieces from walmart. Very nutrisious.
Don't give them chocolate.
Don't give them a bell if you want to stay sane.

3 yr old cockatiel HATES me...What to do?

I have a 3 year old cockatiel that really cant stand me or anyone for that matter. She hisses and tries to bite whenever I stick my hand in the cage. I have tried through out the years to tame her and have never done her wrong. She just doesn't make any progress. Even so, I love her and I want her to have a fulfilling life. I buy her treats and toys but I think she would be even more happy if she could get out of her cage every now and then. Anyone know what I should do? Should I just leave it alone or really try to tame her? Is it too late?
Also, should I get her a companion bird if she wont accept me? Or would another bird just piss her off even more?

clip her wings and then start training her cause if she cant fly away it would be better to try to train her . also tell her no if she tries to bite you in a very loud voice and when you are happy with her then talk to her in a calm voice . me personally I really dont care for cockatiels . I think they are kind of on the loud and spoiled side . My hubby does not care for them either since he had a bad experience with them . anyways good luck and if I can be of more assistance please email me .
